Bailiwick of Guernsey (: Bailliage de Guernesey) is a British Crown Dependency in the English Channel off the coast of Normandy. As well as the island of Guernsey itself, it includes, in order of size, Alderney, Sark, Herm, Jethou, Brecqhou, Burhou, Lihou and other islets. The Bailiwick of Guernsey is not part of the UK but rather a separate possession of the Crown, comparable to the Isle of Man, it is a member of the Commonwealth but not part of the European Union. Together with the Bailiwick of Jersey, it is included in the geographical collective grouping known as the Channel Islands. This grouping is purely geographical as the two Bailiwicks have totally separate parliamentary assemblies, laws, native tongues and even currency! (although it is just different notes and coins that we issue, we also accept uk notes and coins so no exchange worries)
